Amuse Bouche: Marty Campbell From Sophie's At The Dean Hotel

Marty Campbell the revenue and reservation manager at the dean hotel

This month’s Amuse Bouche is stylish, delicious and has a new late night bar night: it’s Sophie’s at The Dean Hotel and its manager Marty Campbell

The Dean Hotel is home to Sophie’s restaurant, which has a gorgeous rooftop view of Dublin’s city centre. It’s also where we had a very productive creative day earlier this year in the inspiring surrounds of the gorgeous Blue Room.

Sophie’s are also taking bookings for Christmas dinner right now and have just launched The HIGHLINE, a New York style late bar with great music and all the delicious cocktails you could want! Straight from the horse’s mouth:

So, what’s the story? From 11pm, Thursday – Saturday night we’ve got the buzz going on upstairs in Sophie’s, our rooftop bar and restaurant. There’s no cover charge, there’s no booking required, just get in, get up and get down!

The lights are down, the music is UP and there are plenty of places to hang out, to dance, to drink. Check out the awesome views of Dublin city, laid out before you. Lights twinkling, glasses raised and tunes to get you moving. Our mega-friendly team are on-hand to make sure you have a brilliant time. Head out to our heated Terrace, loads of places to sit, candles are lit, music playing – we’ve even got some super-comfy lounge beds to stretch out on. What’s not to like?

We’ve got DJs playing back to back tunes that’ll get you moving. Expect to hear tunes from the likes of Talking Heads, Phoenix, Hercules & The Love Affair, Todd Terje, CHIC, David Bowie, Roy Ayers and loads more.

We have swings – say no more.

2. Your ideal party of five, living or dead?

Amy Schumer and Rebel Wilson for the laughs, Kris Jenner (all the wine), Adele because it’s Adele, and of course my boyfriend Shane to help me remember it all the next day.

3. Your favourite place to eat, other than your own, in Dublin?

Whitefriar Grill for brunch, any excuse for daytime cocktails!

4. If you weren’t in the hotel biz what would you be doing?

I’d be a film reviewer, getting paid to watch movies and write about them – the dream!

5. What/Who or Where is rocking your world in restaurants right now?

Belfast, I went to university there. Any time I go back there seems to be another cool restaurant. Ox and Deane’s Epic are two of my faves.

6. What does the future hold for dining?

Seeing more restaurants offering late-night bar options. Nights out are planned around where to go for dinner first, Have it all under one roof – easy.
