A Hong Kong billionaire has doubled his initial offer of €50 million to any man who could turn his lesbian daughter straight.

After a reported 20,000 bachelors have failed to convince Gigi Chao to marry them, her billionaire father Cecil Chao upped the reward to HK$1million (approx. €100million).

The 77 year-old property tycoon is adamant that his 34 year-old daughter is “still single” and looking for Mr. Right, despite being married to her long-term partner for the past two years.

Cecil Chao told a Malaysian newspaper that he has no intention to interfere with his daughter’s private life, but just wants her to be in a happy marriage and to have children.

In response, Gigi Chao told the media that men all over the world expressed interest in the offer. She explained that among the men that applied were “War veterans from the US, someone from Ethiopia, from Istanbul, South America, Portugal, really just from all over the world.

“One American suitor wrote: ‘I’m interested in the offer. I am a male person, who also happens to be gay’,” she said.

Despite her wife being “distraught” with the offer, Chao insists that what her father is doing is out of concern. “I understand that he loves me, it’s just he’s from another time and it’s difficult for him to understand the plight of the LGBT,” she said. “We just agree to disagree on what marriage and family is.”

Chao, founder of anti-poverty charity Faith in Love Foundation, has even offered to comply with the terms of the deal as long as the potential suitor gave most of the money to charity and had no problem with the fact that she was married.

She explained, “I would be happy to befriend any man willing to donate huge amounts of money to my charity Faith in Love, provided they don’t mind that I already have a wife.”
