  • Trump’s administration axes anti-discrimination protections days after Trump’s White House declared in an official statement that he was “determined to protect the rights of all Americans, including the LGBTQ community.” Attorney General Jeff Sessions pulled the federal government’s legal support for anti-discrimination protections for trans students.   • Gay couple Patrick Holder Wendell and Carlos Javier Holder Wendell are suing Venezuela to get the State to recognise their same-sex marriage. The couple married in Massachusetts in 2015. “It’s causing a lot of issues,” Patrick Holder Wendell said. “But it’s also the fact that his government in his country is refusing to recognise us as a married couple, which is painful.” (GSN)

 

  • Two people were injured in an attack in an LGBT club in Croatia’s capital, Zagreb. An unidentified attacker released tear gas into the nightclub which caused panicked club goers to panic. Zagreb Pride association called the incident a direct hate attack on the LGBT community, before urging the Prime Minister to condemn the act of violence. (Pink News)

 

  • Kate McKinnon appears as Kellyanne Conway in SNL’s newest skit. An unhinged looking, night slip wearing, Conway accosts Jake Tapper in his home saying “I just want to be a part of the news Jake.” (Advocate)

 

 

Grammys

  • Laverne Cox (OITNB) gave trans student Gavin Grimm a shout out on the Grammys last night. Grimm will head to the Supreme Court to fight for his rights as a trans man in high school. “Please Google Gavin Grimm. He’s going to the Supreme Court in March. #StandWithGavin,” Cox said before she introduced Lady Gaga.

  • Adele stopped her George Michael tribute halfway through to re-start and kill the performance. “I’m sorry for swearing and I’m sorry for starting again,” Adele said after stopping her performance of Fastlove’. “I can’t mess this up for him.
