The world’s first publicly out prince, Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil, wants Indian lawmakers to decriminalise homosexuality. “If India wants to be respected across the world, it can’t ignore the basic rights of the LGBT people,” he said. “It is high time that India scrap the outdated laws imposed by the colonial government and give equal rights to the LGBT people.” (GSN)

The HRC paid for advertising on Grindr which targeted users in Maryland, where the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is being held. Trans boy Mack Beggs was forced to compete in the girls state championships for wrestling owing to sporting body rules.   • Tanzania backs down from plan to publicly list the names of gay sex workers. “We are not going to announce the names of (LGBTs) who publicly market themselves for technical reasons,” Hamisi Kigwangalla, the Tanzanian Health Minister wrote on Twitter. “For strategic reasons and to avoid destroying evidence we will deal with this issue differently and will keep you informed at every step.” (GSN)
