This month: We’ve put Maser’s ‘Repeal the 8th’ mural on the cover of this month’s GCN, after The Project Arts Centre was forced to remove it from their outside wall in Temple Bar. Inside we talk about why abortion and the repeal of the 8th amendment from Ireland’s Constitution is an LGBT issue, while pro-choice queer activist Ailbhe Smyth talks about the 8th from her own personal point of view. This year’s Tiger Dublin Fringe is particularly queer, and with that in mind we’ve asked some of its LGBT contributors to write about the state of queer arts in Ireland, while we talk to others about the things that make them tick. Plus we talk to a batch of young LGBT designers about what underpins their art and craft. All in all, it’s an issue we’re proud to present, and we hope it gives you pause to think on several fronts.
