Jenny Greene Responds To "Out Of Context" Quotes

Jenny Greene says Irish news outlets have taken her "completely out of context".

Jenny Greene has responded to Irish news publications which have taken her interview with GCN magazine “out of context”.

The Dublin based DJ and radio presenter has issued a statement on Twitter, saying that she felt the need to respond to the news story.

The publications focussed in on Jenny’s desire to be known for her ability and not because of her sexuality.

Here’s Jenny’s Twitter response to the story:

I normally never feel the need to react to newspaper or online articles but today that has changed. Articles published this morning stated ‘I was worried I would be identified as the Gay DJ if I came out.’ This was on the back of an interview myself and my wife Kelly did with GCN after we got married and was published over a month ago. A freelance journalist has now chosen that particular line from the whole article, taken it completely out of context and decided to use it as a headline. I just want to clear something up – I am really fortunate to be doing a job I really love and one I have always wanted to do. I’m presenting and DJ’ing since I was 15 years old. I am proud to be the person I am and the career I have developed and most of all, I am proud to call Kelly my wife and even more proud I was able to marry her in our country last summer. That’s what the GCN article was about and the only interview we decided to do. No more. No less. If you would like to read what we actually said, within context – please see the link below.

Greene then proceeded to tweet the original article which is available to read online here.
