Panti Brings 'High Heels In Low Places' To Ballymaloe

Panti and a pair of high heels to represent her show High heels in low places

The reigning Queen of Ireland, Ms Panti Bliss, is bringing her hit stand-up show ‘High Heels In Low Places’ to Ballymaloe Grainstore this weekend

Panti Bliss is bringing her smash hit stand-up comedy show ‘High Heels in Low Places’ to the Ballymaloe Grainstore in Cork this Saturday March 25 at 8pm.

Propelled into international fame after that RTE incident (aka Pantigate) and the subsequent Noble Call, Panti has taken her unique brand of comedy to the far reaches of the world. Hot off the heels of a national tour of Australia the Queen of Ireland returns to her homeland to perform her seventy-minute show in Cork on Saturday.

From the Ballymaloe Grainstore event page:

National treasure, accidental activist and performance legend – join Panti in her smash hit stand-up show, High Heels in Low Places, a warm and wicked evening of outrageously fun tales.

Charting brushes with infamy, near misses with fame, and adventures in the seedy underbelly, the ‘High Queen of Ireland’ invites you in to her ultra-padded, hyper-real, stiletto-shaped world, as she swaps stories from the gutter and trades secrets of the stars.

Panti landed herself in the middle of a media storm christened ‘Pantigate’ that rocked Ireland in 2014. Soon after, she became a YouTube sensation when a speech she made about homophobia – described as ‘the most eloquent Irish speech’ in 200 years by Irish Times columnist Fintan O’Toole – went viral.  It was broadcast around the world, debated in parliament and even remixed by the Pet Shop Boys – sparking a powerful conversation about equality.

High Heels in Low Places is Panti’s riotous stand-up show about life after ‘Pantigate,’ which has played to rave reviews and chock-a-block houses across Ireland.  Critics called it ‘hilarious’ (Hot Press) and ‘a wickedly funny evening’ (Irish Independent) with ‘impeccable one-liners’ (The Evening Herald).

She will just have returned from a national tour of Australia before her Ballymaloe Grainstore show.

Panti’s show is 70 minutes long with no interval.”

Here’s a message from Panti last August in advance of her performance of ‘High Heels in Low Places’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to give the uninitiated a taste of her sense of humour:
