APRIL 8 RACHAEL SAGE

Award-winning bisexual singer, Rachael Sage describes her sound as “ballet pop,” and to find out what that means, look no further than the video for ‘I Don’t Believe It’, which explores the issue of bullying and features three time American dance champion, the 11 year-old Kaci King.

The title of Sage’s 12th album, Choreographic, is a nod to her love of dance, and through a mix of pop, rock and country, its songs are all linked by the dance. The single, ‘Try Try Try’ reached number six in the American top 40 last year.

“Making this album was a meditation on my lifelong relationship to ballet and , more recently, to lyrical dance,” Sage says. “Dance gave me virtually everything I cherish as an artist: melody, expressiveness, a sense of ensemble, a love of costume and fashion, and foremost, discipline.”

Sage will be bringing her disciplined dance-pop to Dublin this month, supporting Eoin Glackin at The Workman’s Club on Saturday April 8. Find out more about her on her website.
