InterTech Ireland will be presenting No Fats // No Femmes in Google Ireland on November 10 2016

InterTech Ireland will be presenting their second panel discussion dealing with LGBT equality and discrimination.

Speaking at the panel discussion will be 56 Dean Street’s David Stuart (featured in VICE Magazine’s Chemsex documentary), Vivienne Errrington -Barnes (HER Social App), and Riyadh Khalaf (Youtuber).

A press release for the event said “InterTech Ireland is proud to bring No Fats // No Femmes to Google Ireland, the second such panel discussion hosted by the organisation event on the topic of LGBT equality and discrimination.”

The panellists each bring something unique to the discussion coming “from the frontline of gay men’s mental health and substance abuse; from an online dating app that connects lesbians looking for romance and fun; and from the world of arts and entertainment.”

Mantra

The discussion will consider the mantra that ‘No Fats No Femmes’ encourages – whether it is a preference or indicative of a bigger problem within the LGBT community.

“No fats no femmes is not just a common call-out to describe undesired partners who need not apply – it’s a mantra. Are these just individual sexual preferences, or do they represent racism, body shaming and homophobia that’s prevalent and unaddressed in our community?”

“Is marriage equality the end of the road that started with Stonewall? Are we now a nation of equals? Or are we liable to perpetuate amongst ourselves the discrimination we have suffered for decades?”

The discussion will be taking place place in Google Ireland, Barrow St, Dublin 2. Tickets for the event are free but require booking in advance.
