According  to Bobby Brown, tragic singer, Whitney Houston was bisexual and the rumours about her affair with Robyn Crawford were true

Bobby Brown has claimed that Whitney Houston was bisexual and had a secret love affair with her best friend and assistant, Robyn Crawford. His allegations add to a long-standing rumour that the singer was involved in a same-sex relationship with Crawford.

Brown, in an interview with US Magazine, claimed that had Houston been open about her relationship she may not have died so tragically young. “I really feel that if Robyn was accepted into Whitney’s life, Whitney would still be alive today,” he said.

Houston, who passed away in 2012 from a drug overdose, was married to Brown for 14 years. Their relationship was dogged by allegations of drug abuse and physical violence, with Brown largely seen as the instigator. Tragically last year, their only daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away in chillingly similar circumstances to her mother.

Throughout her life Houston denied persistent rumours that she was a lesbian or intimately involved with Crawford, but Brown alleges this silence stemmed from fear of her mother’s reaction.

Cissy Houston, Whitney’s mother, spoke with Oprah Winfrey following her daughter’s death. When asked if she thought Houston and Crawford had been in a relationship she said: “I don’t really know. I didn’t particularly like her. She spoke disrespectful sometimes.”

Opera went on to ask how she would feel if her daughter had been a lesbian and Cissy said that she “absolutely” would have had a problem with that.

If we take Brown’s allegations at face value, its possible that at least some of Houston’s problems stemmed from having to hide her relationship with Crawford and her sexual orientation.
