Galway boy Zac Johnson has made a splash in the international gay porn industry. Appearing in productions from some of the biggest companies in the porn industry, the Irish native has been nominated for eight Grabby Awards and raised a lot of temperatures in the process.

Zac shared his journey in the industry, from getting started to steamy future plans, and offered some tips for those wanting to get into the industry themselves.

What made you decide to become a porn actor?

After a long-term relationship, I just felt like I want to try something I’d always wanted to do, but never made the step for it before. One day, I just applied without any expectations that I would get a call-back, but about two weeks later I found myself on a plane to Manchester for my first shoot with one of the biggest porn stars – Drew Dixon.

After the shoot ended I will never forget the silence on set. In my mind I thought I fucked it up, but when the director said “I think we found a winner, welcome to the industry, Zac Johnson,” I knew this is where I should be. Now two years later, I am travelling the world to shoot porn for you guys.

I’ve reached fast international success in the industry by working with studios like HungYoungBrits, Blake Mason and Scottxxx and content on my Zac Johnson OnlyFans page (@zacjohnsonofficial).

As Ireland doesn’t really have a porn industry, I am very proud to put Ireland on the map in the gay porn industry. I’ve been nominated for eight Grabby awards (Europe’s biggest gay porn awards) it’s like the Oscars of porn. The nominations included: Best Bottom, Best Jock, Best International Porn Star, Best Fan Site Performer, Best Fetish Porn Star, Best Couple, and Porn Star of the Year.

What is a myth about porn that you’d like to debunk?

I think one of the biggest myths about porn is that all we do is party and take drugs on set. I mean, there are some black sheep everywhere, but for those of us that do this as a full-time profession, we do take our career seriously, and our body is our moneymaker. That means; gym, good healthy food, good skincare and so on. You have to be on your A-Game at all times cause last-minute bookings can always roll in.

I think drug abuse can be the first thing people ask about and they are surprised when I tell them that it could end your career if you show up on set like that.

Who would you like to work with?

There are a lot of amazing people I would like to work with, for example, guys like Jordan Fox, Justin Jett, Tyler Roberts, Nicolas Bardem and many more. But I am blessed enough to call them my mates and I can tell you – open your pants and get the tissues ready because it will happen and it will be very hot!

Have platforms like OnlyFans or Just4fans changed the adult entertainment industry, and if so how?

The fan sites have definitely changed the industry. The topic of doing porn, or being in porn, is more open and people are more open minded to working in porn.

OnlyFans and other sites give us an opportunity to interact with our fans. We get instant feedback and offer custom videos, it brings us closer, and they let us know what they would like to see. All in all, it brings the fan closer to the porn star, which can be amazing for both.

Any upcoming projects we should know about?

There are some exciting projects in the planning! I have been approached by some big gay porn production companies in the US who would like to fly me out. This is an amazing step in my career as this will definitely put my name up with the big fish in the industry, which is very exciting.

I am also working on my new website, Proudstud.com , which is an e-commerce multi vendor website for gay fetish gear, underwear and toys.

I am super excited for what is about to come in the next few months and I’m also super excited to put Ireland (Galway) on the map in the gay porn industry. I am super thankful for all the amazing support I get from the Irish gay community.

Any tips for someone who’d like to venture into the adult entertainment industry?

I believe porn is an amazing place to be in – you can see every age, shape, race, Trans and non-binary performers, it’s for everyone. And everyone has different tastes and kinks.

My tip would be to take your time in making decisions, and know where you would like to go in your career. Do you want to be seen as a dominant top or a submissive bottom, things like that. Always be friendly and professional and stay humble. And as a last tip – know your self-worth.
