Royksopp & Robyn have just released their third music video in as many months from their collaborative mini-album, ‘Do It Again’.

robyn-monumentThis time, the near 7 minute epic – and according to Robyn “pretentious, but in a good way” – opening track ‘Monument’ gets a treatment from the singer’s fiancé, director Max Vitali, who previously helmed the clips for the iconic Dancing On My Own and Be Mine.

Upon hearing the track, which was written after Royksopp & Robyn were playing with a time-delay technology during a recording session, Vitali told the singer how he had a vision for a clip – to “create a weightless and timeless space by shooting on a wire-based camera, drawing the viewer in on a journey of self-discovery”.

Vitali, who was an editor on Madonna’s striking ‘Nothing Really Matters’ video in 1999, went on to say how it was intended to be “Half fantasy, half reality with a hybrid of technology and emotions, in a way that is what Royksopp & Robyn do”.

The mini-album Do It Again, from which the track is taken, has proven both a critical and commercial success for the joint act – reaching number 14 on the Billboard it is Robyn’s highest charting album, while it is the highest ever first week entry for a Norwegian act.
