Transgender Equality Network Ireland, BeLonG To Youth Services and the Irish Trans Student Alliance are to present the first Trans Youth Forum.

The event will take place on Wednesday, July 15 and is open to all trans identified young people aged 14-25.

“We want to hear from young trans people about what matters to them,” said TENI Chief Executive Broden Giambrone. “We know that young trans people are routinely ignored, dismissed and rendered invisible in their daily lives. This needs to change. We are asking young people to join us and share their experiences of education, health and legislation to help us effectively advocate for change.”

“We invite all trans identified young people to come have their say in a safe and positive environment,” said BeLonG To’s Executive Director David Carroll. “We’re really excited to be hosting such an important event and we are delighted to be working alongside our partners on this project, to ensure as many young trans people’s voices as possible are heard.”

The Trans Youth Forum will be broken into two groups:

1. Trans young people (14-17 years old) will be hosted in BeLonG To Youth Services, 13 Parliament Street, Dublin 2 from 2.00pm to 5.00pm. To register you must RSVP to [email protected] or phone 01 6706223. 

2. Trans people (18-25 years old) will be hosted at Trinity College Dublin from 10am to 4.45pm. Lunch will be provided. Please         register here.

The event is FREE and open to all trans identified young people 14-25 years of age living in the Republic of Ireland.
