- Three quarters of HIV-positive gay men have been rejected by sex partners over their status. A survey of 750 gay and bi men living with HIV reveals that 97% believe there is still stigma associated with being HIV-positive, specifically on dating apps. (GSN)
- A third of gay and bisexual men believe that HIV can be transmitted by sharing a toothbrush. A UK survey of 2,030 people revealed that nearly one third of people believed HIV could be transmitted by sharing a toothbrush with an HIV-positive person. (Irish Times)
- UK leaders call for an end to HIV stigma. Theresa May, Jeremy Corbyn, Nicola Sturgeon and Tim Farron all call for an end to stigma associated with HIV. (GSN)
- WHO issues new guidelines for HIV self-testing. “HIV self-testing means people can use oral fluid or blood-finger-pricks to discover their status in a private and convenient setting,” WHO Director-General Margaret Chan. (Indian Express)
- Apple Stores turn red for World AIDS Day 2016 and launch new (Red) products. “We are bringing an unparalleled level of awareness to AIDS and our fight against it,” Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, says. (GSN)
