On Saturday, June 16, the Red Ball is the place to be. The inaugural event is being thrown by HIV Ireland to raise both awareness and funds to support people affected by HIV and AIDS.

Attendees at the event in Guinness Storehouse will be entertained by performances from special guests while enjoying cocktails sponsored by Smirnoff and Baileys as well as a delicious three course meal. Those feeling lucky can take part in the raffle to win some fabulous prizes or become the highest bidder in the celebrity hosted auction, all proceeds going directly to the cause.

For those party goers looking to keep the night going (and who won’t be – it’s a Ball!), don’t worry, there’ll obviously be a dance floor!

Those who enjoy the night can also know their necessary support is being put to fantastic use. Over the past two years alone, 1,014 people have been newly diagnosed with HIV in Ireland, which is an average of 10 new HIV diagnoses every week. Since 1987, HIV Ireland have provided a range of essential free services including information and advice, counselling, advocacy, community support, and the provision of education and training on HIV, AIDS, and sexual health. They also provide on-site HIV and STI testing, a walk-in condom service, and Rapid HIV testing.

Speaking about the Red Ball, Bernard Condon, Chairperson of HIV Ireland said, “In order to continue to provide the high level services we are committed to…  we need your help. This ball is a wonderful opportunity to come together, show solidarity, ensure our work continues to positively impact the lives of those affected by HIV & Aids in Ireland and have a good time too!”

Tickets for the ball are available now from HIV Ireland’s website and other sellers.
