After 10 showstopping seasons in the US, the legendary RuPaul will finally bring her iconic reality competition series across the pond as she confirmed that Drag Race UK is going to happen in 2019.
World Of Wonder, the production company behind RuPaul’s Drag Race shared a short clip of RuPaul breaking the news:
“Hey this is RuPaul, and guess what UK? We are casting for Drag Race! That’s right, we are looking for queens, we are looking for showgirls for the UK! God Save the Queen.”
On her own social media, the drag queen tweeted:

Eight episodes of the show will air on BBC Three later this year, and the series will be filmed in London. Potential queens should submit an application before January 11. Check out Talent Talks Casting Agency for more information.
RuPaul gave The Sun an inkling on what to expect:
“I am beyond excited to celebrate the massive charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent of the Queen’s queens. And before anyone asks, yes we would be thrilled to have Meghan Markle join us, as we are already preparing a ‘Royal-Mother-To-Be’ runway challenge.”
Ru’s right-hand woman and presiding judge on Ireland’s Got Talent Michelle Visage also chimed in to share her excitement tweeting:
“HERE WE GO! SEE YOU ON THE MAIN STAGE, UK QUEENS…Audition deets coming soon!”
Visage made it clear that both herself and Ru will be on the UK judging panel:
“Yes, @RuPaul is hosting, it is @RuPaulsDragRace after all…and yes OF COURSE I will be right beside him!”

Many Twitter users speculated over what sort of queens and guest judges one might expect to see on a UK edition of the show. Twitter user Richard Butler shared his thoughts:
“Honestly if Drag Race UK is filled with young hot Insta queens and there isn’t a single ropey old broad from Blackpool with a red feathery wig and blue eyeshadow up to her hairline I shall sue.”

UK fans of the show made their preferences very clear with resounding calls to see Gemma Collins and Kim Woodburn nab a coveted guest judge spot, and urging World Of Wonder to steer clear of Piers Morgan and Jonathan Ross.
