Hen's Teeth launch crowdfunding campaign to help build a new cultural space for Dublin

Hen's Teeth on Fade Street has come to an end, but it marks the beginning of a new venture which includes a permanent cultural hub for the city in Dublin 8.

Gallery, studio and art & lifestyle store Hen’s Teeth have launched a crowdfunding campaign to help raise €40,000 to complete a new cultural space in Dublin 8.

Since November 2017, Hen’s Teeth’s home has been on Fade Street with their gallery space on the ground floor. The independent cultural organisation has now found a permanent home. However, facing a second move in less than two years, Hen’s Teeth is looking for support and is offering a range of fantastic rewards to help raise funds for the building’s fit-out.

The rewards include limited edition t-shirts and prints, vouchers to spend in-store worth 15% more than you pay and even an exclusive private dinner with a leading Irish chef.

Rosie Gogan-Keogh and Greg Spring from Hen’s Teeth spoke about the importance of cultural spaces in the creative process:

“We’re in a hugely exciting time in Dublin culture and more broadly across our whole island. There are more artists, musicians, curators and cultural innovators of world standard than ever before, and increasingly, these people are realising they can stay in Ireland to achieve their dreams. At the same time, more and more cultural spaces are closing and property is at a premium.

“In the midst of this, we want Hen’s Teeth to be a ray of light and we promise to give back to the creative community, continue to provide a platform for emerging artists to exhibit work, perform and create, to invite renowned international artists over, to help continue to inspire our own creative community.”

World-renowned graphic designer Annie Atkins, testified to the importances of Hen’s Teeth, noting it’s vitality in keeping Dublin’s creative energy afloat:

“Hen’s Teeth are always coming up with interesting ideas, especially in their agency work of pairing artists with brands to produce creative campaigns—which ultimately means that brands get completely unique artwork, and local artists can be paid properly for it.

“Dublin needs more creative spaces, more creative entrepreneurship, and Hen’s Teeth are smashing it.”
