Anastacia puts on unforgettable performance for sold-out Dublin gig

The singer's Not That Kind tour came to the 3Olympia Theatre on April 22 and we were excited to celebrate "Anastacia style".

Pop/rock icon Anastacia played a sold-out concert on April 22 for hundreds of adoring fans at the 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin. The tour wasn’t for a new album, but rather to mark a milestone anniversary of her first studio debut album, Not That Kind, which was released 25 years ago in June. Stopping in Dublin before she begins the final leg of the tour in the UK, the audience showed up and showed out for the icon that she is.

Before we get to her, let’s discuss the opener, Casey McQuillen, who became an Irish citizen just in time for her performance. To put it lightly, Ireland will certainly be glad to have her as she gave her all to the performance, which helped give the crowd energy for the rest of the night. Finishing with a song that left her belting from her heart, the audience knew they had an exciting gig ahead of them.

Anastacia started the gig in form-fitting denim jeans and a green studded signature jacket, making jokes about appealing to the Irish in front of her. The concert had an incredible line-up of songs, but more importantly, as she sang, she made a true effort to connect with her crowd. Before singing ‘Overdue Goodbye’, she dedicated the song to a woman in the audience who had lost a family member who was meant to join her for the concert. Alongside this, during ‘You’ll Never Be Alone’ as she sang “make it through this fire”, she gestured towards the crowd and herself during a lowlight intimate moment. It felt as if the singer was reaching out to give her fans a moment of comfort and relief amongst all the troubles occurring outside the venue’s doors.

Anastacia put on an amazing performance and gave the people exactly what they wanted with her amazing vocals and stage presence, as well as the sheer number of songs, remixes, and encores she had to offer, all paired alongside her great fashion choices for the show. It was also incredibly sweet to see her hyping up her bandmates and their solos as if she were a proud mother.

We must also mention the lovely crowd that filled the 3Olympia Theatre for an intimate and unforgettable experience for everyone involved. We hope to see Anastacia back in Dublin soon!
