The FBI are tracking down the whereabouts of the Bad Wig Bandit – a man who has been involved in a string of robberies while each time wearing a different wig.
In the Charlotte-Metro area, North Carolina, the Bad Wig Bandit has been connected to the robberies of three banks over three weeks. Each time, the suspect donned a distinct and questionable hairpiece. Video footage of the culprit shows him wearing gloves as he passes a note to the person behind the desk.
During the first robbery, the suspect can be seen to be wearing a blonde bob wig and a shirt with a multi-coloured rainbow on it. The heist occurred in Huntersville on December 13, 2019.
He said:

Police have reported that the suspect claimed to have a gun during the Belmont robbery, however, never presented it. Allegedly he was left empty handed after the teller denied him money.
Over the holiday season, there were no reported signs of the Bad Wig Bandit, but on January 8, he targeted the New Horizon Bank. Five hours later, the culprit robbed the Wells Fargo, Gastonia. Spectrum News reported that the suspect was seen escaping the scene in a silver SUV. No injuries have been reported from the three known robberies.
Across social media, the Bad Wig Bandit has been making a stir as many users reacted to his choice of disguise. One Twitter user wrote underneath ABC News footage of the robberies, “He said: Hey girl, how you doing? I need you to put all the MF money in the bag Okay sis? And make haste I have a hair appointment at 5.”
People have also been turning the dubbed name Bad Wig Bandit into a new read, with one Twitter user stating, “The fact ABC low key came up with a new read that can be used to drag someone you can’t stand. Ok ‘bad wig bandit’.”
