Benjy the Bull Saved By 'The Simpsons' Producer

Benjy the bull

In a strange and Hollywood-worthy twist of fate, Benjy the Bull has been saved by The Simpsons’ producer Sam Simon.

Benjy the Bull, whose story has been shared worldwide, has been rescued by the mega-rich Sam Simon, whom was informed by PETA about the bull’s fate.

Last week, it was revealed that a Co Mayo farmer had planned to send Benjy to the slaughterhouse due to his apparent homosexual tendencies. The bull was bought to impregnate that farmer’s cows but, after a year, he had shown no interest in reproducing. Instead, Benjy showed interest in the other bulls on the farm.

Upon the story’s publication, a fundraising campaign to save Benjy the Charolais bull was started by TheGayUK and Ireland’s Animal Rights Action Network (ARAN).

Now, Benjy is to be moved to a sanctuary in the UK after The Simpsons’ co-creator donated £5000 for the bull’s care.

“PETA told me about Benjy, and I felt compelled to help. All animals have a dire destiny in the meat trade, but to kill this bull because he’s gay would’ve been a double tragedy,” said Simon. “It thrills me to help PETA and ARAN make Benjy’s fate a sanctuary rather than a sandwich.”

So, as they say, all’s well that ends well.
