Byron Yeates

” I have so many fond memories of this song, especially playing it on the day Ireland said ‘YES’ to Marriage Equality.”

On Saturday June 24th, Mother and Smirnoff are teaming up to host the biggest party of 2017! To get you in the mood to party and celebrate Pride, we’ve asked the performing acts to pick their Top 5 Queer Anthems for you.

Byron Yeates is an Irish DJ, promotor and the founder of Alice club night. Originally from Galway, but now residing in Berlin he was recently invited to play the 12th birthday of Berghain/Panorama Bar and is curating a night at the Reckless in Love Stage at this year’s Body&Soul Festival. Byron has been throwing pop-up parties since 2012 with a string of national and occasional international guests and he currently hosts a monthly show on Dublin Digital Radio.

Here are Byron’s top 5 Queer Anthems picks! Don’t forget to follow our Spotify playlist below to find more of our artists’ picks for you each day!

Sylvester – Sex

Two friends recently played this for me before we went out and I’ve had it on repeat since.

Donna Summer – I Feel Love (Patrick Cowley Mix)

I have so many fond memories of this song, especially playing it on the day Ireland said ‘YES’ to Marriage Equality.

Pet Shop Boys Feat Dusty Springfield – What Have I Done To Deserve This? (Shep Pettibone Mix)

One of the best collaborations ever!

Hazel Dean – Searchin’ (I Gotta Find A Man) U.S. remix

This was a staple at many a house party when I lived in Galway.

Rochelle – Love Me Tonight

Picked this up recently in a bargain bin in Berlin and I love it.

You can follow our Spotify playlist as we will be updating it with more picks from the other acts performing.
