A survey carried for BBC Radio 5 Live has revealed that a majority of British football fans would have no problem with a gay player at their club. However, 8% of those surveyed said they would stop supporting their club if they hired a gay player. (The Guardian)

Jeremy Corbyn has said that a Labour government would introduce a ‘Gay History Month’ to the UK’s national curriculum. Corbyn also said he would offer a formal apology to all gay men convicted under now abolished historic sex offenses. (Telegraph)

Geordie Shore resident Gaz Beadle used his Daily Star column to Spur (geddit?) gay footballers into coming out. “If you are happy enough to let your balls slap against another lad,” wrote Beadle, “then think about having the balls to admit it and help stamp out homophobia in the beautiful game.” (Daily Star)
