Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ is being resurrected for a 50 date North American arena tour – and a few familiar faces have joined the cast.
In a bid to (we assume) rekindle their former glory, two members from the two biggest bands of the 90s/00s have signed on for the 70s musical. Destiny’s Child star “Poor” Michelle Williams and *N Sync‘s JC “Definitely Not JT” Chasez will take on the roles of the all singing, all dancing, Mary Magdalene and Pontius Pilate.
I bet Beyoncé and Justin Timberlake are crying into their giant piles of cash because they missed out on this one. All jokes aside, we would love to see Michelle and JC on stage once again.
Not a pop fan? Well Brandon Boyd, the ever handsome lead singer of Incubus will play Judas Iscariot. John “Johnny Rotten” Lydon, of Sex Pistols fame, is set to take on the role of King Herod.
Jesus Christ Superstar will kick off in New Orleans and stop off in Detroit, Los Angeles, Chicago, St. Louis, Phoenix, Seattle, Las Vegas, Denver, New York City and Boston.
Well done M-Will, you’ve come a long way.
