Beyoncé is no stranger to springing surprises on us, and her guest appearance alongside former Destiny’s Child band mate Kelly Rowland on Michelle William’s new single Say Yes is no different.
The track also features Solange, sister of Beyonce, who last week became known to the masses when a video of her launching a violent attack in a hotel elevator on her brother-in-law, rapper Jay Z, was leaked online. Solange’s 2012 EP, True, received critical acclaim upon its release and also established the singer as a style icon.
Say Yes is a remake of a Nigerian gospel hymn When Jesus Says Yes, but Destiny’s Child elevate the song to iconic status in a way only they know how. The track will be the lead single for William’s fourth studio album, Journey to Freedom, which is her first for Texas-based Gospel label Light Records.
To make things even more exciting, the group filmed a music video last night in Maplewood, New Jersey, marking their first shoot together since the promo for Stand Up For Love in 2005.
