Fórsa youth to host quiz night in aid of TENI

As well as the quiz and a raffle, the Fórsa Choir will also be making their inaugural performance.

Group of people celebrating at a quiz night

This year’s Fórsa Quiz Night will be hosted by the youth division of the union in aid of the Transgender Equality Network Ireland (TENI). TENI is a non-profit organisation that seeks to improve conditions and advance the rights and equality of trans people and their families across Ireland through support, education and advocacy.

As well as the quiz itself, there will also be a raffle with some fabulous prizes up for grabs, finger food and refreshments will be provided and there will be a pop-up bar for anyone who fancies a drink. To top it all off, the Fórsa Choir will be performing for the first-ever time on the night so there will be plenty of stuff going on that you won’t want to miss!

It is €100 to reserve a table of four for the quiz and the youth network has asked member branches to either book a table or alternatively donate €100 to the charity as the money will be put to good use.

The quiz will take place this Thursday, December 12, at the Fórsa Nerney’s Court office in Dublin and registrations for tables are still open so hurry up and book your spot! You can register for a table by contacting the youth committee by email, or alternatively if you would like to make a donation, do so by cheque, made out to TENI, and sent to Michael Kerrigan, Fórsa, Nerney’s Court, Dublin DO1 R2.

Event registration will commence at 5:30 PM on Thursday and the quiz will kick off at 6 PM. All proceeds from this year’s event will help TENI continue their amazing work within the community, so brush up on your general knowledge and book a table to support the cause!

Fórsa was formed in early January 2018 after members of IMPACT, the Civil, Public and Services Union (CPSU) and the Public Service Executive Union (PSEU) voted to amalgamate the three organisations. This makes Fórsa Ireland’s newest trade union with already over 80,000 members and growing.

Support GCN

GCN has been a vital, free-of-charge information service for Ireland’s LGBTQ+ community since 1988.

During this global COVID pandemic, we like many other organisations have been impacted greatly in the way we can do business and produce. This means a temporary pause to our print publication and live events and so now more than ever we need your help to continue providing this community resource digitally.

GCN is a registered charity with a not-for-profit business model and we need your support. If you value having an independent LGBTQ+ media in Ireland, you can help from as little as €1.99 per month. Support Ireland’s free, independent LGBTQ+ media.
