Great British Bake Off star Ruby Tandoh has come out publicly, after sharing the news with her parents earlier today.
The season four runner-up said she feels “lucky and joyful and free” after coming out to her parents and, then, to the rest of the world; she included the classic Diana Ross song I’m Coming Out in her tweet.

Tandoh then admitted that it was others on Twitter that encouraged her to come out as gay, thanking the “queer queens”.
& to all the bros who hate social media, who pit it against ‘real life’- i never would’ve had courage to be me w/out twitter’s queer queens

She also had the last laugh battling naysayers who assumed she would sleep with Paul Hollywood to get ahead in the competition.
p.s. for those who thought I fancied Paul Hollywood or that I’d ever bang him to get ahead – JOKE’S ON YOU, YOU MASSIVE SHITTING MISOGYNISTS
