Popular online pornography portal, Pornhub, has revealed that Ireland ranks number two on the list of ‘Countries Most Often Searching For Chav Porn’.

The site, which claims to be the “world’s biggest porn site” publishes semi-annual insights into the most popular items searched for by users.

In 2015 the company noticed that the term ‘chav’ grew in popularity with both gay and straight visitors. Users searching for the term grew by 169% in 2015 causing it to  become the 9th most popular UK search.

Pornhub also revealed that ‘Chav’ is more commonly searched for by gay visitors than heterosexual ones – by a whopping 102%.

‘Chav’ is perjorative colloquial noun denoting a ‘young lower-class person typified by brash and loutish behaviour and the wearing of (real or imitation) designer clothes.’

The company’s insights also reveal that Ireland ranks after the UK in the lists of ‘Countries most often searching for chav porn’. The site also reported a “significant number” of ‘chav’ searches from Pornhub Gay viewers in the Netherlands, France, Australia and the United States.

The most viewed category on Pornhub Gay in the United Kingdom is ‘Straight Guys’, followed by ‘Black’. They were also the two most popular gay categories in the United States, although ‘Black’ came first among Americans. Falling into third place is ‘Daddy’.

The most popular gay search in both the UK and the US is ‘straight first time’. Of the top 10 gay searches on Pornhub, half feature ‘straight’ guys.  Relative searches also reveal that regional slang like ‘british chav’ is nearly 1200% more popular in the UK, along with ‘english lads’ and ‘wanking’.
