JK Rowling has responded to a fan on Twitter, reassuring the user that Harry Potter’s school Hogwarts, is definitely a safe place for LGBT students.
The exchange happened last night (December 16) between famed author Rowling and Twitter user ciaraoswiin, who put the question to Rowling’s official Twitter page.
“do you think there are a lot of LGBT students in modern age Hogwarts? I like to imagine they formed an LGBT club”
“it’s safe to assume that Hogwarts had a variety of people and I like to think it’s a safe place for LGBT students”

JK Rowling quickly responded with a witty – and true – picture on her account.
Rowling isn’t afraid to introduce her young readers to LGBT characters, revealing in 2007 that her powerful and popular character of Albus Dumbledore was gay.
Also, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is very vocal about his support of the LGBT community.
