Who doesn’t love Christmas movies? And despite the lack of LGBT representation – ‘Love Actually’ is a modern classic. But now, the director revealed there was an entire lesbian subplot that was cut from the film.
Love Actually, the charming but emotional tale of several interconnected love stories has often been criticised for it’s lack of LGBT inclusion. But believe it or not, director Richard Curtis revealed that there was a heartbreaking story of a lesbian couple that was axed from the movie entirely.
The tragic subplot revolved around the headmistress at the school which hosts the nativity play at the end of the film. You know, when the cute kids sings Mariah Carey and Hugh Grant and Martine McCutcheon are caught shifting backstage.
The headmistress is seen caring for her terminally ill partner – and the scene will give you all the feels.
