Madonna paid tribute to her “favourite rebel” David Bowie on her Rebel Heart US tour.

The iconic singer took a moment out of her usual setlist to perform one of David Bowie’s classics, Rebel Rebel, as a tribute to the legendary singer who passed away earlier this week.

“This is all fun and games, and I am privileged to be able to do what I do, but I want to pay tribute to a man who inspired my career,” she told the Texas crowd.

“If you haven’t heard about David Bowie, then look him up motherfuckers. He was one of the geniuses in the music industry, one of the greatest singer-songwriters of the 20th century, and he changed my life when I went to see him in concert in Detroit.

“He showed me that it was ok to be different. And he’s the first Rebel Heart that I laid eyes on.”
