It has been announced that Michaela Jaé Rodriguez will be part of the upcoming 12th season of American Horror Story.
Joining fellow cast members such as Kim Kardashian, Cara Delevingne and Emma Roberts, she will reunite with co-creator Ryan Murphy, who she collaborated with on the Emmy-nominated show Pose. For her performance in the last season of the aforementioned show, she won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama, making history as the first transgender woman to do so.
The American actor and singer confirmed she is joining American Horror Story in an Instagram post, writing: “Guess the cat’s out of the bag”.

Although details of her role are yet to be revealed, there is some information circulating about the upcoming season.
In a first for the show, a novel will reportedly inspire the new episodes. The book, Delicate Condition, written by Danielle Valentine and due to release in August this year, tells the imagined story of an indie actress called Ana Alcott.
Announced as a “gripping thriller about a woman who becomes convinced that a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens,” the novel follows the main character, who, desperate for a family, is undergoing IVF treatments.
As the treatment keeps going wrong, no one believes her claims that someone is preventing her from having a baby, and she is left to fend for herself.
The synopsis reads: “As her symptoms and sense of danger grow ever more horrifying, Anna can’t help but wonder what exactly she’s carrying inside of her…and why no one will listen when she says something is horribly, painfully wrong.”

Dubbed a “feminist update of Rosemary’s Baby”, the new season of American Horror Story is reportedly subtitled Delicate, and we are excited to see which part Michaela Jaé Rodriguez will play!
As the show is still in the works, with scenes being shot in New York, there is no official release date yet. However, the new episodes are expected to be released around October/November.
