As part of the I.NY festival, a festival which celebrates Ireland and New York’s relationship, Mother will be taking their DJs on a road trip to Limerick for I.NY presents: Mother x I.NY // Limerick.

The I.NY festival runs over eleven days this month and celebrates the “deep and vibrant connection between Ireland and New York City.”

Disco fans in Limerick will be delighted to learn that they have two chances to catch the Mother DJs at their finest this weekend and next.

Mother will host the I.NY Festival Club at The Granary this Friday, October 6 (Mother x I.NY) from 10pm-1am and next Friday, October 13, again with Qool DJ Marv from 10pm-1am.

Deep Connection

The Dublin club made the Irish Times list to become one of the top five clubs in Ireland as the self-proclaimed “most colourful Saturday night party in Dublin City.”

Inspired by the likes of Studio 54 in New York’s disco scene, the connection between Ireland’s colourful club night and the big apple runs deep.

“Conceived in June 2010, Mother is an old-school club night for gays and their friends, where the focus is solely on good times and good tunes heavily influenced by the glory days of New York City disco,” the event’s page declares.

But music isn’t the only element that draws on Ireland’s connection with NY, the Mother Team revealed.

“Mother was the name of a club night in New York, so we take our name from that” said the Mother Team.

With some blockbuster events under their belt including this year’s incredible Mother Pride Block Party with Loreen, disco-lovers can expect some incredible music from Mother DJs: DJ Ruth and DJ Rocky.
