Rising star rugby brothers Sam and Thomas Burgess, who are developing something of a cult gay following thanks to their ruggedly handsome good looks, are among the first sportsmen to back the first ever international study on homophobia in sport.

The ‘Out on the Fields’ survey was launched prior to International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, which took place earlier this month on May 17. The survey is intended to shed light on homophobia among athletes and fans throughout the world.

Sam, who happens to be the brother of George Burgess, the rugby player infamous for posting nude selfies, spoke out, “We’re very passionate about this, we have a lot of gay friends…everyone get in line or else!”

The Yorkshire-born brothers both play for South Sydney Rabbitohs of the Australian Rugby League, tell in the video below that it’s time for homophobia in sport to be conquered once and for all.

Full details on the survey can be found on the Out on the Fields website.
