The superbly talented Peaches (Merrill Nisker) has created her first solo exhibition, entitled Whose Jizz Is This?, at the Kunstverein, Hamburg.
“On the twentieth anniversary of her stage debut, Peaches takes a trans-disciplinary and transgressive approach to expand the format of “the exhibition” by creating a living organism,” according to a press release.
Whose Jizz Is This? incorporates Peaches’ multifaceted talents and will be an immersive experience involving musical productions, live performances, sculptural, photographic, film, and text works. She has called the exhibition “a deconstructed musical in 14 scenes.”
The exhibition will follow the “Fleshies” as they liberate themselves from humans and words like ‘sex toys’ and ‘masturbators’ while trying to achieve sexual equality. The Fleshies were produced by the fantastic House of North and have been programmed to respond to Peaches voice.
Requiem for a Fleshie will be one of the musical numbers sung by the Fleshies. They will sing in three-parts about their struggles and desire for freedom.
Peaches has always proven an astounding ability to break boundaries. From wearing a puffer jacket made of breastplates in the music video Dumb F***k to Gothic-Esque sex rituals in the music video Free Drink Ticket, she finds new and exciting ways to break the mould.
For my upcoming solo exhibition Whose Jizz is This “Fleshies” have renamed themselves as such to rewrite their narrative, break away from humans and human interactions, do away with words like sex toys and Masturbators in a quest to find sexual equality amongst themselves. pic.twitter.com/encyoOixrj

In 2016, Peaches spoke to GCN about her dynamic debut solo album Teaches of Peaches. During the interview, she said, “It’s been a slow constant build of what I do, and if you’re around long enough people start to take you seriously, which I find funny, so I just continue doing what I’m doing.”
Whose Jizz Is This?, the exhibition, is developed alongside the International Summer Festival Hamburg – a festival hosting a multitude of artistic disciplines with a focus on radical aesthetic approaches.
The exhibition, Whose Jizz Is This?, will run from August 10 to October 20, for tickets see kunstverein.de.
