Public Nominations Open For The GALAS, Ireland's LGBT+ Awards

As GCN and The National LGBT Federation gear up for the eighth annual GALAS awards ceremony in October, public nominations have gone live.

GALAS LGBT Awards

It’s that time of the year again! We at GCN, along with our publishers the National LGBT Federation, are asking the public to nominate people and organisations that they feel should be awarded for their contributions to Ireland’s LGBT+ community at the annual GALAS awards ceremony.

The GALAS are also to honour politicians, employers and others who are committed to advancing equality and social acceptance for LGBT+ people in Ireland, while the GALAS International Award, which gives a bursary of €2,000 to person fighting for LGBT+ rights in countries that seriously discriminate against LGBT’s will be among the 18 awards handed out this year

Nominations are now open to the public and the closing date is Friday, September 22. The nominees will then be shortlisted by LGBT+ organisations across Ireland, and the eventual winners will be chosen by the National LGBT Federation.

The eighth annual GALAS, Ireland’s LGBT Awards, will take place in Dublin’s Mansion House on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Tickets are available here.
