ABC’s Of LGBT Workshop

Events This Weekend: ABCs Of LGBT Workshop Poster

ShoutOut is delivering an open workshop for parents, guardians, youth workers etc called the ABCs of LGBT on Saturday in Outhouse.

We’re sure our readers have the ABCs of LGBT down but maybe you know someone who would benefit from this event.

Managing Director of ShoutOut, Bella Fitzpatrick said:

“Parents, guardians, youth workers, teachers etc often feel overwhelmed by the new lingo when it comes to queer identities. They feel afraid to have these conversations with the young people in their lives. But there’s nothing to fear! We’ll take them on a journey of queer identities and what it really means to be LGBTQIA+ in modern day Ireland, and how to be a good ally. This event is for anyone who wants to learn! Even LGBTQIA+ people, because ultimately we’re all allies to the letters that don’t describe us.”

This weekend will see the premiere of bold theatre piece The Mouth of A Shark, as part of THISISPOPBABY’s series Where We Live – a “ferocious response to the theme of home” and a multifaceted look at what it’s like to live in Ireland and Dublin today.

Seeking to interrogate the intersection between migration and asylum in Irish society, The Mouth of A Shark weaves together the real-life stories of those who have migrated to Ireland and who seek asylum here, with the stories of individuals who left Ireland to escape for political or cultural reasons.

‘The Mouth of the Shark’ is directed by Oonagh Murphy and is part of Where We Live, part of the Dublin St Patrick’s Festival presented by THISISPOPBABY from March 6-18.
