Watch Róisín Murphy Realness, a new short documentary about the former Moloko frontwoman and Arklow native, and her rise to becoming a gay icon.
Only a few days before she hits Dublin’s Olympia Theatre, a new documentary from filmmaker Aleksandar Dragičević has been released. Featuring interviews with Murphy along with some of her biggest fans, she explains her affinity with her gay fanbase.
“[The documentary] reflects on to her albums, Ruby Blue, Overpowered and Hairless Toys – and tells the story about Róisín Murphy’s visual and musical style,” reads the films description.
“Róisín Murphy is known as a huge gay icon in some particular circles that are usually inspired by the artists that are cockered authentic and original appeal.”
Tickets for Róisín Murphy’s homecoming gig in the Olympia, supported by our very own MOTHER DJs on February 11 are completely sold out – but if you are one of the lucky ticket holders looking to continue partying, or if you couldn’t make the gig and want to hit the tiles anyway, get down to MOTHER’s Róisín Murphy Afterparty in Copper Alley from 10.30PM.
