Sleater-Kinney announce new album and tour following an eight year hiatus.
Janet Weiss, Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker aka riot grrrl politico-punk band Sleater-Kinney, have announced that they will be hitting the road in support of their brand new album. Their first album in eight years, No Cities To Love, is to be released through Sub Pop Records on January 20, 2015.
This album will be their eighth full length release since forming in the early 90s. In 2006, the group disbanded and went on to pursue other ventures. Guitarist Carrie Brownstein gained notoriety for teaming up with Fred Armisen to create acclaimed comedy series Portlandia.
The group are set to end a 21 date US and European Tour at Dublin’s Vicar Street on March 26 2015. They have also giving fans a taster of the album, releasing the first track Bury Your Friends.
Tickets for their Dublin show go on-sale this Friday, October 24 at 9AM. See Ticketmaster for more info.
