Openly gay comedian and actress, Kate McKinnon, is cast in ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot alongside Melissa McCarthy and fellow members of the ‘Saturday Night Live’ family, Kristen Wiig and Leslie Jones.

The recently announced Sony Pictures all female Ghostbusters reboot was met with both delight and dread from fans of the franchise – some excited to see some funny women take on the iconic 80s film, and others begging “please don’t tamper with a classic”!

Whatever your stance on the Ghostbusters reboot, we have to admit that they have a good chance of nailing it with the team that have been brought on board.

Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat) will be in the director chair and also writing the screenplay. No details have been revealed about the characters or the story, but rumours have been flying that the original Ghostbuster Bill Murray, may do a cameo.

Kate McKinnon has already made a name for herself as one of the SNL greats, despite only being on the main cast since 2012. Stand-up comedian and SNL player, Leslie Jones, will also appear in the reboot alongside Bridesmaids buddies Wiig and McCarthy.

He announced the cast over Twitter, by simply posting a Brady-bunch style photo of the ladies.

Soon after, he revealed the release date – which is too long of a wait for our liking.

If you still have your doubts, maybe you just need to be reminded of how funny these women are together.
