57 year-old actor Stephen Fry has announced that he is to marry stand up comedian Elliot Spencer, 27.

According to reports, the pair will marry in a registry office in Dereham, Norfolk, near where Fry was raised. The news that Fry is to tie the knot with his boyfriend was first leaked by The Sun, before being confirmed by the actor himself on Twitter.

He wrote,

Oh. It looks as though a certain cat is out of a certain bag. I’m very very happy of course but had hoped for a private wedding. Fat chance!

The happy couple are rumoured to have been dating for the past year. Fry has already given formal notice of his impending nuptials to the registry office, although no date has been set.

Fry’s personal assistant revealed, “Stephen Fry is very happy and proud to say that he has set the wheels in motion for a wedding sometime in the future but no date has been set due to a busy work schedule.”
