‘Germany’s Next Top Model’ has it’s first ever trans contestant in Pari, a 25 year-old model from Berlin – she had the best response to a journalist who asked if she was “100% female”.
The hopeful will be competing against other young models and be coached by supermodel Heidi Klum in the German spin-off of the popular reality series. While she is not the first trans woman to appear in the franchise, she is the first on Germany’s Next Top Model. Recently a journalist overstepped the mark and asked Pari whether or not she was “100% female”.
“I’m a woman and have, technically, always been a woman,” she responded.
“People always want to know what is hiding in transsexual people’s pants. In my opinion that’s really brash. I don’t ask you what is hiding in your pants.”
Pari added that her boyfriend has always been supportive, saying, “After two weeks I told him my story,” she told BILD. “He was a bit surprised at first, but he reacted like a true gentleman.”
The first the new season of Germany’s Next Top Model will air on February 12.
