Australian singer Troye Sivan has been teasing his latest single ‘Rush’ for months, but the wait is now over. Described as a “celebration of sex, dance, sweat, community, queerness, love and friendship”, the new video already has heads spinning and hearts beating faster.
While posting images and snippets from the music video on socials, Sivan was hinting that fans were going to get a, shall we say, very thirsty video. As we all know, Sivan doesn’t shy away from including LGBTQ+ content in his videos, but this new video may be the steamiest yet. The song is the perfect summer bop and its video includes the obligatory dance number, which fans can try out whenever they hear the single at their local club.
And that’s not all! The Australian singer also announced on Twitter that his new album will drop in October and described it as “my something to give you – a kiss on a dancefloor, a date turned into a weekend, a crush, a winter, a summer. Party after party, after party after after party. Heartbreak, freedom. Community, sisterhood, friendship. All that. <3 I love you!!!!!!!!”
The musician has released a lot of music in recent years but this will mark his first full album in five years, with the previous being the critically acclaimed Bloom in 2018.

Fans are absolutely losing their minds over ‘Rush’ and the steamy scenes in its video, with some pointing out that its title may reference a brand of the recreational drug known as “poppers”, a popular one within the LGBTQ+ community. And while many have welcomed and celebrated the video, some have also raised the issue of lack of body diversity in it.
Positive comments on the video included: “OKAYYYYY rush by Troye Sivan is the song of this summer omg THIS is how you do gay bangers slay“.
