Viral voguing sensation, Brendan Jordan MCs Human Rights Campaign’s Time To Thrive, introducing to the stage trans model and activist, Andreja Pejić.
The Nevada teen who broke the internet back in in 2014 for his fierce Gaga dancing at a mall grand opening has grown up! Now 16, Jordan spoke at HRC’s Time To Thrive conference in Dallas, where in he introduced one of his personal heroes, international fashion model Andreja Pejić. Before Pejić made her way to the stage, Jordan took the time to declare himself as ” a part of the trans community”.
“Like most teenagers, I’m still figuring it out. I’m starting to identify as one, or as part, of the trans community,” Jordan told the crowd. “I can’t really label it, because, you know, some days my more feminine side comes out – the ‘she.’ Some other days I don’t feel like putting on my fabulous mask, and the ‘he’ comes out, and I’m totally OK with that.”
Guest of honour, Pejić, then took to the stage to give her personal praise to the young YouTube star before addressing the crowd. The 24 year-old trans trailblazer talked of going from being a war refugee in her native Bosnia, to becoming the first trans woman to grace the pages of Vogue – an experience she likened to “winning the lottery”.
