BBC Three have ruvealed the first official trailer for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, and British humour is front and centre.

The trailer starts in a classic studio-based BBC sitcom-style living room, an ode to British television which continues throughout the trailer.

The ten queens are chilling in their living room, enjoying a cocktail when a RuPaul painting comes to life announcing: “Hello, hello, hello! It’s Mama Ru here in search of the UK’s very first Drag Race superstar. Prepare for the ride of your life!”

The living room is then transformed into a disco with the queen’s lip-syncing to Donna Summer’s ‘I Feel Love’.

As the queens dance, contestant Vinegar Strokes performs a ‘Fawlty Towers’-Esque wig ruveal, unveiling a Basil Brush squirrel friend, shaped into her wig, singing along with Donna Summers.

The BBC released this hilarious spoof of British TV to celebrate a two-week countdown to the premiere on October 3, when Ru will begin her search for the UK’s very first Drag Race Superstar.

The trailer gives us a lewk at what we can expect from the British queens; it looks like the comedy and personality will be the defining factors of this season.

Cast members have already promised at least one major “bust-up” in the Werk Room. Contestant Blu Hydrangea said that there was a true “sisterhood” among the cast during filming.

Joining RuPaul and Michelle Visage on the judging panel will be Graham Norton and Alan Carr as returning judges along with several guest judges including Little Mix’ Jade Thirwall, Geri Horner aka Ginger Spice, Maisie Williams, Cheryl and Andrew Garfield.

Lorraine Kelly and Stacey Dooley are set to appear on Snatch Game, which is rumoured to be one of the best ever recorded.

Earlier this week, RuPaul revealed that the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, very nearly signed up for the first series but it didn’t work out.

“The invitation is still open for season two,” Ru was sure to point out.

“Meghan’s arrival in the royal family marks a whole new era. I like the way she challenges the norm.”

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK premieres on October 3 on BBC Three iPlayer and Wow Presents Plus.
