‘Modern Family’ star Eric Stonestreet revealed to HuffPost Live that he once refused to take a photo with right wing same-sex marriage opponent Rick Santorum.
In an interview with Huffington Post, Eric Stonestreet said that Rick Santorum once asked him for a photo, but Stonestreet refused. He said, “Rick Santorum wanted a picture with me. It was at a time when he was publicly saying, ‘Gay marriage, gay marriage [is wrong],’ and I’m like, ‘You know, I can’t do it.’
“It was with him and his kids or something like that, and I said, ‘I’d be happy to take a picture with the kids, but I can’t just be in a picture with [ Rick Santorum.]'”
Santorum is a fervent gay rights opponent and once compared homosexuality to bestiality.
Stonestreet also talked about how his gay Modern Family counterpart Cameron may have affected same-sex marriage laws in the US.
