Between Chinese New Year, Wes Anderson and now Pillow Queens, it is clear that 2018 is definitaly the year of the dog.

Dublin based band Pillow Queens are making waves across the Irish music scene since their debut release in December 2016, selling out their debut gig at Bello Bar, headlining Dublin’s Workman’s Club, Whelan’s Upstairs, and playing to a cinema full of fans at the IFI.

They have just the music video for their title track off their new EP ‘State of the State‘ which is due for release on the 16th of March.

The video was shot and directed by Bob Gallagher and produced by band member Sarah Corcoran.

In a video, the band spoke about the idea for the track saying, “the concept of the video was borne from the artistic insights of the wonderful Bob Gallagher combined with our sheer passion and fondness for all things canine.”

“The idea was to bring to life a work which followed the retro look of old Antiques Roadshow episodes and was heavily influenced by Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Best in Show, and 80’s prom portraits or, in the case of this particular video, “pawtraits” of dogs and their owners.

“The National Show centre was the setting for the video while the individual “pawtraits” were shot in All Out Design Studios and feature a mixture of friends of the band and doggo-loving volunteers.”
