Among the amazing LGBTQ+ events happening in Ireland this March is the return of queer club night BKKE! After performing in many different venues across the city, the event has found its new permanent home at veAmo on St. Stephen’s Green. Soundtracked by special guest Hifi Sean and DJ Paddy Scahill, the opening will double up as a celebration of BKKE’s 20th anniversary, and GCN has a pack of five tickets to give away to one lucky reader.

Known for its wild dance floors and legendary house music, BKKE has always brought Dublin’s partying crowds to life. And this time, the comeback is bigger than ever.

The event will welcome the renowned Sean Dickson, artistically known as Hifi Sean. After enjoying success in the ’90s as the lead singer of the highly regarded group The Soup Dragons, Hifi Sean decided to take a step towards a solo journey.

Ready for the spotlight again, Sean released his first solo debut project a few years ago, the acclaimed album Ft, which he describes as “electronic, psychedelic soul”.

The album boasts collaborations with an extraordinarily diverse range of artists, including conceptual art icon Yoko Ono, Funk/RnB bass player Bootsy Collins and American new wave band The B-52s.

His single ‘Testify’ featuring Crystal Water managed to be big both in Ibiza and on Radio 2 and reached number one on Billboard‘s Dance Club Songs chart in October 7, 2017.

In addition to writing and producing his own solo album, Sean has been passionately dedicated to his DJ sets, holding down residencies and guest sets at XOYO, Glitterbox, and Metropolis, to name but a few within his base in London.

Promoter Buzz O’Neill said: “BKKE is celebrating 20 years—hard to believe! With all the negativity surrounding Dublin’s club scene lately, it’s incredible to share some good news at last.”

The big event will occur on March 16 at veAmo, formally known as The Well. Attendees can expect a fresh, vibrant space blending queer joy and quality DJs.

Tickets for BKKE’s upcoming party are available here, but for a chance to win a pack of five, simply answer the following question:

What’s the name of Hifi Sean’s single that reached number one on Billboard‘s Dance Club Songs chart?

The competition closes at midnight on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Winners will be contacted directly and shared on social media.
