American experimentalist musician Yves Tumor is playing in the 3Olympia Theatre on November 27, and GCN has a pair of tickets to give away to one lucky reader!

Described as producing an “ecstatic fusion of alt-rock and R&B” and “spellbinding art rock”, Yves is known for their “boundlessly visceral and authentic sonic signature” with a genre that harmoniously blends elements of rock, psychedelic electronica and pop.

Tumor has released five studio albums to date. Their past releases include When Man Fails You (2015), Serpent Music (2016), Safe in the Hands of Love (2018), and Heaven to a Tortured Mind (2020), which earned praise from The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, The FADER and NPR, among others.

They have recently released a new album, entitled Praise a Lord Who Chews but Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds). The new project was produced by Noah Goldstein and mixed by Alan Moulder, and is described as Tumor’s most intimate record yet.

Throughout the 12 tracks, expect to follow a “conceptually manifold spiritual journey – circuitously weaving darkness to light, pop and innovation, cacophony to church-like calm.”

In the album, Yves “manifests their vision of diluting reality by giving meaning to the abstract and allowing for dissonance to be seen and heard as harmony.”

To celebrate the record’s release earlier in 2023, Yves Tumor is touring the EU, having already visited Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Poland, Sweden and Copenhagen. The queer artist is still to play shows in the Netherlands, Germany, France, England and Scotland, before closing out the tour in Dublin.

Praise a Lord Who Chews but Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds) follows the release of a 2021 EP which included the track ‘Jackie’, which became Crack Magazine‘s number one song of 2021 and made it into Pitchfork‘s Top 25 songs of the year.

Tickets to see Yves Tumor at the 3Olympia Theatre are available now from €29.50 at Ticketmaster.ie, but for a chance to win a pair of tickets, answer the following question:
