If you have ever watched a makeup tutorial, you may have come across Nikki De Jager, aka NikkieTutorials, on YouTube. The Dutch beauty YouTuber has over 12 million subscribers who watch her videos.
She recently made a video where she does Lady Gaga’s make up who said the first makeup tutorial she ever watched was one of Nikki’s videos.
In her most recent video, Nikki came out as transgender.
“I want to inspire little Nikkies around the world who feel insecure, who feel out of place, who feel misunderstood — I hope by me standing up, and being free, that it inspires others to do the same — to truly live your life like you wanted and the way you deserve.
“It is 2020; it’s time for us to understand, accept, hear, and respect [everyone].
“The time for you to love yourself and respect yourself…is now
“Growing up, the number one thing I am most thankful for…is my mom because she has been there for me since day one,” Nikkie stated.
Nikkie revealed that as soon as she “had a brain”, she knew she was a girl. Aged 6 she grew her hair out and “fully wore girl’s clothing.”
Aged 14, Nikkie was taking hormones and growth-stoppers.
By the age of 19, Nikkie had fully transitioned.

She went on to say that she initially didn’t tell her now-fiancé Dylan but she was glad once she did and only regrets not doing it sooner.
“But that is a private matter that we’re dealing with, and I am so proud that we are able to deal with [it].
“I am me. I am still Nikkie. Nothing changes about that.”
Nikkie also spoke about people who threatened to blackmail her, saying they would go to press and tell them she is trans to which she had a special message.
The response to Nikkie’s video has been overwhelmingly positive. The video is currently trending number 1 on YouTube and has had over 15 million views in less than 24 hours.
