Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is giving away eleven lucky GCN readers the chance to win tickets to go see The Cher Show, coming to Dublin from July 19 to July 30! The fabulous production will chronicle the legendary pop sensation’s rise to fame, from the unsure, awkward teenage “Baby” to the self-assured and career-defining “Lady” to the fierce, global super “Star” that we know and love today.
The show features 35 of Cher’s musical hits with choreography by Oti Mabuse, a two-time Strictly Come Dancing champion. It’s being directed by the magnificent Arlene Philips who is also responsible for Saturday Night Fever, Starlight Express and Grease.
To celebrate Dublin Pride taking place this weekend, €5 for every ticket purchased for The Cher Show will be donated to BeLonG To Ireland. BeLonG To is a national charitable organisation supporting Irish LGBTQ+ youth by offering support and promoting inclusivity.
Since forming in 2003, BeLonG To has worked tirelessly with young Irish LGBTQ+ people aged between 14 and 23. According to their mission statement, their goal is “to support LGBTQ+ young people as equals to achieve our vision through youth work, changing attitudes, and research. BeLonG To’s vision is a world where LGBTQ+ young people are equal, safe, and valued in the diversity of their identities and experiences.”
They also run advocacy campaigns on behalf of LGBTQ+ youth and offer a variety of specialised support services focusing on mental and sexual health, alongside drug and alcohol support.
The €5 donation will be made on all tickets purchased over this Pride weekend. The charitable sales began this morning and will continue running until midnight, June 26. Donations can be made using Ticketmaster over this weekend by purchasing a ticket here and selecting the ‘donate to BeLonG To’ after selection.
Dublin Pride is a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and culture, playing an important role in promoting diversity, inclusion and belonging within society. As an artist and as an individual, Cher has been a long-standing ally of the LGBTQ+ community, and The Cher Show is proud to take this opportunity to support this organisation.
To win The Cher Show tickets, simply answer the following question: Who did Cher recently release a Pride collection with?

Support GCN
GCN has been a vital, free-of-charge information service for Ireland’s LGBTQ+ community since 1988.
During this global COVID pandemic, we like many other organisations have been impacted greatly in the way we can do business and produce. This means a temporary pause to our print publication and live events and so now more than ever we need your help to continue providing this community resource digitally.
GCN is a registered charity with a not-for-profit business model and we need your support. If you value having an independent LGBTQ+ media in Ireland, you can help from as little as €1.99 per month. Support Ireland’s free, independent LGBTQ+ media.
